I have to study more for an English language test in London tomorrow that must be done so I can register over here to work as a nurse. I wondered why I stayed in South Dakota the last ten years. It is clear to me now that all the experience of skilled nursing work, equipment and skin care was leading to this moment.
After South Dakota, poor wages, one hospital in Rapid City area, and little variety in jobs, I knew things could only get better. The ratios here are so great I have a bruised chin from my jaw hitting the floor when I get some information.
We went to London yesterday to hand in the paperwork for the language test. I cannot believe how much the weather changes. Anybody that knows me knows I dress like I am going to a blizzard. Yesterday I had no hat, a warm vest and 4 layers, but scant long sleeves. I was so so cold that when I finally bought a wool wrap I felt like a different person.
I was getting a cold and scratchy throat. We went to Boots drug store, I like trying their homeopathic and other medications here that we don’t have. This cough medicine had ammonium carbonate and ammonium Chloride, and guaifenesin in it. I was to put 2 tsps. in water and drink. It really did smell like when I color my hair, but I am better and throat is fine, no sniffles unless I go for a walk, and I have only used it 3 times.
Russ and I walked along the ocean today, made it to town and back and while we were in the bookstore, it started raining. Two blocks back home and we were wet.
It is hard to tell when the weather is going to change by looking at the sky. Maybe that is why the shops are busy.
I have to study. Life is great. These test directions are multi-tiered and convoluted. What a roundabout way to find the answer in 20 minutes. Ask me anything you want to know about the dynamics of strength of a spider’s web.
Wow, they spell curb here as kerb! hope that isn’t on the test. Thanks for the emails my Luvs. Keep dancing. it is a big big world and whatever your cares, they are but a speck in the sea. Keep the faith, that’s what gets me through and it always works.
