I took a ride to Deadwood, some friends of mine wanted to see me and say goodbye. See enclosed picture, I didn’t see any color in the canyons or roads ahead.
I always have a great day-this day got more and more discouraging-got a new battery in my watch and now it doesn’t work at all, didn’t realize it until I was down the road. No clip on sunglasses in my new size, ice cream machine broken at McDonalds, post office weighed and measured my box with a 13 inch glass platter in it for Ebay, it came to $35.93! that is distance (NJ), weight (less than a pound), priority and a big box. It wasn’t until I signed along with two other packages the total was $59.00
I always go to the Sturgis Post Office because the man there works with me and tells me the best way to send, best deal to send overseas, correct box, and how I should go home, do it again, and save myself alot of money. Jake sent me a post office money order for his books, that even threw this postman at the counter.
An hour later, the box was $14 non priority and the credit was back on my card. Driving 45 miles to Deadwood just gave me time to be disheartened about the future. I felt so alone.
I got a good picture, the road to Deadwood being the lower one I am on, and the higher road climbing up the rocks is the one to Spearfish where I work. It was a beautiful road, but it has been glorious in the past.
I forgot the catfood. I can’t remember last time I had a bad day, and two friends are going to get a really great surprise in the mail, so that’s how I can turn it around. I am not a great shopper at all. I will use another watch and deal with it later.
