As soon as I move out of South Dakota I will stop writing about the weather, and I will be first in line to say,”at last she’s got something else in her day to talk about.”
If you haven’t read Thornton Wilder’s ‘Our Town’, you are missing out on his wonderful version of how precious a day can be.
I picked up my new glasses today, bwala! very very nice. The neighbor told me to come back anytime, how nice! I missed Phil’s mom Lucy’s 80th birthday party when I was at work yesterday, but the neighbor as mentioned above, said I was missed by those dear people, so I was there in Spirit, doesn’t get better than that.
When I phoned Lucy to sing Happy Birthday, she was hoarse, must have been a good day. Her kids were all at the motel pool swimming, in from all states from which they traveled.
My Dad went to get his oil changed, so he must be well taken care of by the hospice/angels.
I am still reading True Compass by Edward Kennedy, it is a wonderful book. I am trying to finish it fast, my dear Aunt Anita has a loved on in the hospital, like when you are 80 and you find a wonderful companion? She won’t let on but she is devastated and fearing the worst. I am going to send her my George Plimpton biography I have promised her, and True Compass. I didn’t know Teddy went down ski jumps and on bucking broncos when he was gathering delegates for JFK out west! G! let’s see Sarah Palin do that, or anybody.
Time to go see if any playoff games are on tv for baseball. That is the first job I ever wanted, to grow up and be a baseball announcer! I listened to Cubs on radio with my Granny Amy. Play ball!
